World Gourmet Summit 2010

Kalau dalam dunia sepakbola kita punya pesta empat tahunan FIFA World Cup, maka di dunia kuliner ada yang namanya World Gourmet Summit (WGS).

WGS ini adalah acara gastronomi* Internasional yang diselenggarakan oleh Peter Knipp Holdings Pte Ltd dan didukung oleh Singapore Tourism Board. WGS 2010 telah diselenggarakan tanggal 11-25 April lalu di Singapura. Puluhan chef ternama dan permerhati kuliner dari seluruh dunia hadir di sana.

Beberapa kegiatan dalam WGS 2010 ini antara lain:

  1. Wine Tasting and Grandeur of Wine Gala Dinner

  2. Celebrity Dinner, Charity Dinner

  3. Kitchen Party.

  4. Culinary Masterclass by Dieter Kaufmann (Germany), Dario Bario (Spain), Juan Pablo Felipe (Spain), Ben Hewry (Australia), Andrea Berton (Italy), and Lai Yau Tim (Hong Kong)

  5. Culinary Workshop by Vivek Singh (United Kingdom), David Thompson (United Kingdom), Hal Yamashita (Japan), and Alex Chow (United Kingdom)

  6. Chocolate Workshop by Gianluca Fusto (Italy), Loretta Fanella (Italy), Pang Kok Keong (Singapore), and Frederic Bau (France), dll.

  7. Chocolate Dinner, Gourmet Golf Experience, etc

Salah satu kegiatan di WGS: Vivek Singh Culinary Workshop

Kalau di Piala Dunia, Italia dan Prancis harus tersisih, tapi di WGS ini, mereka cukup eksis ternyata. Ini buktinya:

ITALY-FRENCH 3-3

Appetizer di atas dibuat oleh Diego Chiarini (Italia) dan Francois Mermilliod (Prancis). Terdiri atas Buffalo milk mozzarella dan Parma Ham (baris pertama), Herring caviar dan cooked ham with pistachio (baris kedua), dan cured beef bresaola dan crab meat salad (baris ketiga)

 

*gastronomi adalah ilmu tentang good eating, atau seni kuliner.
