Onion Gravy

Ingredients

  • 100 g unsalted butter
  • 1 tea spoon brown sugar
  • 2 medium onion slice thinly
  • 1 tea spoon red wine vinegar
  • 200 ml beef stocksea saltf
  • 1 table spoon fresh cracked black pepper

Instructions

Melt butter in a heavy-based saucepan over low heat.

add sugar and onion

Cook slowly until caramelised, about 30 minutes.

Add vinegar and cook for another five minutes.

Add stock and season with salt and pepper and simmer for 15 minutes until sauce has thickened.
